    Many kitchen appliances would be more interesting if they
    had webcams.  Not to watch people, but to watch food.

    You could watch slices of bread toasting in toasters, or you
    could watch mold growing on food in the fridge (video of this
    would have to be sped up, to be interesting).  

    You wouldn't have to open the oven to see if your cookies
    are done.  You could just watch them on a monitor next to the 
    oven, or on a projection on the kitchen table.
